Bluewater Classic

Good luck to all my friends and aquaintances
who're taking a shot at winning the Bluewater
Classic tournament in Sarnia this week.

The $150+20 NL on Wednesday is sold out.

Still seats available for $300+35 on Thursday.
Day 2 of the $600+70 main event is sold out.
Still some seats for Day 1 left. This event is
basically the only "high" (lol) buy-in tourny
in the area, so usually sells out.

Hopefully the Canadian Poker Tour will
expand next year to include more events
in Ontario. Gotta move to Calgary if you
wanna be a tournament superstar in Canada.

Canadian Poker Expo

They've added 'The Score' as
title sponsor so this thing might
have legs and become something.

Record Field at Commerce

Commerce Casino introduced a new tournament
format which had a three-day start, allowing players
to buy back in on subsequent days if they bust out early.

This proved popular, attracting 3,967 players and
making itthe largest land-based tournament in history
behind the World Series of Poker.

Along with available re-entry, there was also
a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

According to tournament directore Matt Savage,
"Commerce was jam packed this past weekend.
It shows that a little creativity and an opportunity
for a second chance at hundreds of thousands of dollars
can reinvigorate poker"

First place went to Moshe Mashiah from LA,
who collected $164,627. Commerce crushed its
$500,000 guarantee by $253,730, paying 369
players a share of the $753,730 prize pool.

HUGE BB Jackpot at Seneca

The Bad Beat Jackpot at Seneca Niagara
Casino has ballooned to $252,342 USD.

I bet there's tonnes of old farts
falling asleep in the chairs, barely
playing a hand, afraid to go home
because they might miss the BBJ.

I think this is +EV.

Annette_15 Advert Banned

An ad sent out in emails by Betfair.com showing
a photo of a young looking Annette Oberstadt
with the caption “Online experience is measured
in games, not years. Join the new breed. Annette_15″.

The U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA)
has upheld a complaint made about the advertisement,
saying it “was likely to have particular appeal to
children and young people, and that, by representing
a successful young poker player with the implication
she was 15 years old, it could encourage young people
to gamble and was therefore irresponsible”.

Mercier jumps to BetClick

The rumours are true. Isabelle Mercier
has ended her sponsorship with PokerStars
She has signed with BetClick which is trying to
grow its market across europe. Good luck to her.
